[ADV] KO Skin Specialist Product Review

Here’s the continuation of my experience at KO Skin Specialist.

As mentioned in my previous post, I visited KO Skin Specialist at Damansara branch for one-hour consultation after which I had been diligently using KO Skin Specialist products from different range.

Dermax Bio Firming Eye Essence 8 15ml RM180
Eye gel that hydrates the eye area and reduces fine lines. No doubt one of my essential daily products especially now that age is catching up! The texture is gel instead of oil base so I  don’t have to worry about getting under eye clogged pores.

KO Dermaceutical Perfect C Serum 23 40ml RM280
This serum is to be used after toner and before moisturizer. According to the skin doctor, this serum would help lighten my skin tone, refine my pores and boost collagen production. After using it for several months, my skin appeared slightly firmer and more radiant now.

KO Dermacare Miracle C Powder RM299 (2 vials – packaging will be changed)
My skin tone is rather uneven, so I was prescribed this miracle powder to reduce pigmentation and even out my skin tone for a spotless complexion. To be mixed and applied with the Perfect C Serum. These days, my skin tone has shown improvement and I’m not ashamed of going out without my BB cream.

KO Dermaceutical Perfect Block Plus Skin Perfecting Cream with SPF 80 PA+++ 30g RM380
This sun block is amazing! At first, I really doubted it as the cream looked rather dark for my skin tone. But surprisingly it was similar tone to the usual BB cream I have been using. In fact, the coverage is even better than BB cream! My skin is so flawless whenever I applied this sunscreen.  For better UV protection, it is recommended to be applied once every 2 hours.

KO Series Acne Therapy Solutions Clarifying Treatment Gel 20gm RM99
Reduces redness while eliminating acne-inducing bacteria. To be applied after cleansing and before the regular skincare routine. Not to be used on wounds though.

KO Series Multi Protection SPF41 PA++ 25gm RM120
Another sunscreen product, but not as oily as the one from KO Dermaceutical range. This sunscreen reduces surface shine and keeps skin matte. Suitable for those who want to avoid oily looking skin. When I use this, I usually don’t have to apply any loose powder.

To conclude it, my skin has been really well maintained and healthier after using KO Skin Specialist products for the past few months.

You may forget to eat your lunch, but never forget your daily skincare routine!

Bali Work & Play - Lia Cafe, Jimbaran Bay & Bebek Bengil, Nusa Dua

The breathtaking sunset of Bali that is the signature view of the magical island.

We took a taxi to Jimbaran Bay for seafood feast at Lia Café which I have been 2 years ago – read here.

The set menu here is quite affordable. We picked Set C which was Rp. 500k (approx. RM146) for 2 pax with lobsters, crabs, prawns, clams and not forgetting, Bintang beer.

By sunset, the beach was already packed with tourist diners.

Yummy!

The crabs aren’t the freshest I have tasted, but it was acceptable being cooked with sambal.

We couldn’t have enough of the chili – so spicy yet addictive!

Do drop by the jagung stall in front of Lia Café. You have the option to go for either sweet or spicy corn. We would recommend the spicy corn with chili powder which we thought was really delicious.

Next, we tried out Bebek Bengil, a dirty duck diner somewhere near The Westin Resort, Nusa Dua where we stayed.

The restaurant was surrounded by trees and diners can choose to be seated in the individual huts.

We had Bebek Bengil – the famous crispy duck and grilled duck served with Balinese sauce which was equally good.

In fact, everything was yummy and addictive when served with that bottom left chili. I finished all of it!

Balinese Sate Lilit was tender. Pick either fish, chicken or duck.

What a delightful afternoon. We could sit there, eat and listen to the distant waves all day.

More photos from my pool and beach time at The Westin Resort, Nusa Dua.

That sums up my work trip in Bali this year (although this post is nothing work related LOL). Where will the destination be next year? :)

Bali Work & Play @ The Westin Resort Nusa Dua

That beautiful island never failed to impress me.

It was my second visit to Bali and this time we spent the entire trip at Nusa Dua.

Last year, our annual convention was held at Phuket – read more about it here. This year, the management decided to organize it at Bali and it turned out that everyone loves that island because the attendance this year had way exceeded the expectation!

We stayed at The Westin Hotel at Nusa Dua which is approximately 45 minutes away from Kuta town where all the night scenes were happening. Which was fine for me to be honest, because I could stay at the hotel and utilize the facilities all day long if I were given a choice. Teehee.

2 double bed. Colleague was pleased because then I wouldn’t have kicked her off the bed :/

Freestanding bath tub! ^^ I could really use some flower petals.

The refreshing view from our balcony.

Chicken feet and bubble bath. Oh well.

Really, Westin has one of the best beds! I could lie down and laze all day long. And I am not even getting paid to say this! It is for sale as I recall when I passed by the lobby of The Westin KL. Not cheap :x

There is a private beach for the hotel guests with shaded day beds and lounge chairs. And even giant pillows! How thoughtful.

Managed to get my precious beach time as the first day was free and easy itinerary.

Still not tanned anyhow. Wouldn’t want to be! Don’t judge XD

[ADV] KO Skin Specialist - E-Store Product Promotion

Since puberty, I have been educated on the importance of daily skincare procedure. As we grow older, it is inevitable that our skin ages in an accelerated pace hence requires more effort to maintain its condition. One of my major concern is the lack of moisture on my skin considering that I spend most of the time in an air-con room. I was told that once your skin lacks moistures, it dries up and ages faster! Thanks to KO Skin Specialist, I was offered a valuable one-hour consultation session with their skin doctor at Klinik Dr. Ko Damansara, 10 Boulevard (during which I had zero make up on just so the doctor could observe and comment on my bare face condition:/)

The founder of KO Skin Specialist – Dr Ko Chung Beng, spent 17 years in UK and obtained his specialist qualifications prior to his return to Malaysia in 1994. He headed the Dermatology Department of Seremban Hospital until 1997, then founded the KO Skin Specialist which has since been providing a comprehensive range of in-depth services from dermatology to cosmetic surgery.

When he first started out on his own in 1997, KO Skin Specialist was just a little clinic in Klang, located on the first floor of a shop lot. However the effectiveness of his prescriptions soon spread and today, that little clinic is now the headquarters for the 26 clinics of KO Skin Specialist centres across Malaysia. KO Skin Specialist now has their very own formulation of skincare products which are formulated by their team of professionals to combat signs of aging, acne and other skin problems. The centres also offer the most complete range of laser therapy equipment in Asia. No longer just a Malaysian brand, KO Skin Specialist has a branch in Xiamen, China, and will be opening more branches in the future! How’s that for a Malaysian success story?

KO Skin Specialist has four (4) skincare ranges namely – Dermax Clinicare, KO Dermaceutical, KO Series, and eKo.

Dermax Clinicare
The Dermax Clinicare series is known for its effectiveness in preventing new acne formation. Products in this series are meticulously blended with a natural botanical extracts under strict quality control. It removes impurities; refines open pores; soothes and heals the skin for an acne-free face.
This series comprises a broad range of products, even for dry and sensitive skin. Products from the Dermax Clinicare series may be used together with products from other KO Skincare series depending on your needs.

KO Dermaceutical
The KO Dermaceutical series speeds up recovery; protects the skin from sun exposures; combats dullness, pigmentation, dehydration whilst reversing the signs of aging. The serums, cleansers, toners, moisturizers and sunscreens complement the needs of most skin types, and is also ideal for post-treatment care. Like Dermax and the KO series, products from the KO Dermaceutical range can be used together with products from other series, depending on your skin condition.

KO Series
The KO series offers a gentle solution to reduce blemishes, which is great news for those who have sensitive or acne-prone skin as most blemish fighting products can irritate sensitive skin.

eKo
The eKo series is infused with amaranthus caudatus — one of the best sources of vegetable protein known for its antioxidant and skin revitalization properties.

The range of products that were prescribed to me: ( a wide range from a few series which are enough to last for months *happy*)

KO Dermacare Purifying Cleansing Gel 220ml RM198
Before this, I remove my cosmetic with make up remover and rinse off with a cleasing foam. However, double cleansing method is not advisable for my skin. I was prescribed this cleansing gel which could effectively breaks down grease stain from make up (including the eye area)  without destroying the natural protective lipids layer of the skin. Just gotta squeeze an adequate amount and massage your face on a circular motion to make sure you remove the make up thoroughly. Saves me plenty of time too since everything could be removed at one go.

KO Dermaceutical Perfect Radiance Toner 21 120ml RM198
An essential step of our daily skincare routine. Apply day and night after cleasing. I was prescribed the toner from this series as it could transform dull and tired skin into a brighter and luminous complexion (according to the doctor I’ve got an uneven skin tone). So far I have seen improvement on my skin tone and pigmentation effect after using for a month. The toner is alcohol free so don’t worry about it causing dry skin.

KO Dermacare Aqua Hydrating Moisturizer I 60g RM280
This was prescribed as my day-use moisturizer. Water based moisturizer which is also suitable for acne-prone and oily skin. Quite happy with this product as it makes my face and neck sufficiently moisturized throughout the day. Don’t have to apply too much, just a pea-sized drop since it is quite concentrated. 60g can easily last for more than 3 months.

KO Series Acne Therapy Solutions Clarifying Treatment Moisturizer 50gm RM160
The doctor recommended this for my night use. This KO Series moisturizer is non greasy and could easily absorbed into my skin. In the past I used to wake up with really oily face because the moisturizer is too greasy which could cause pimples and acne. No such problem after I started using this before sleep.

Well moisturized and radiant skin thanks to the wide range of KO skincare products ^^

Will share more details on the remaining KO products prescribed to me on my next blog post!
